About the Conference

This Conference has been organized by the PG & Research Department of Physics, Thiru Kolanjiappar Government Arts College(Grade I), Vriddhachalam in association with the Indian Science and Technology Association - Elavenil. Professor G. Rajavel, Principal, TKGAC has presided over the Inaugural function and Mrs. S. Mugunda Kumari, Head, PG and Research Department of Physics gave welcome address. Professor P. Ramasamy from SSN Institutions gave inaugural address and Professor Jiban Podder gave the special guest address. Professor R. Jayavel from Anna University delivered the Keynote Address. In addition, Professor M. N. Ponnuswamy and Prof. D. Velmurugan from University of Madras, Professor P. Murugakoothan, Principal, Kandasamy Naidu College, Chennai, Former Principals of Thiru Kolanjiappar Government Arts College Prof. R. Rajasekaran and Prof. K. Velu have felicitated the event. The  conference was highly beneficial to the Researchers who are working in various fields of Materials Science. The ultimate goal of the conference has been realized by imparting a basic understanding and exposure about the recent developments in Materials Research and their applications to young Researchers. In the conference, keynote/invited lectures by eminent experts from various institutions in India and abroad and Oral/Poster presentations by the participants have been delivered and discussed, respectively. Around 250 abstracts have been received from various levels of researchers from the countries like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh and China. Around 150 participants from various parts of India and abroad have participated in the event. Apart from these around 40 PG Students from other Arts and Science Colleges also participated. The following thrust areas covered in this conference are Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Thermoelectric Materials, Solar Cells, Materials for Environmental Applications, Crystal Growth, Crystallography, Thin films, Spectroscopy, Nonlinear Dynamics, Simulation and Modelling. 

At the end, this conference has been approved/sanctioned by Tamilnadu State council for Science and Technology, Department of Higher Education, Government of Tamilnadu for a partial financial support.
